This has enabled us to provide a hardstanding parking area and pathway to the pool. Further stone pathways link 4 safe fishing platforms specifically designed for wheelchair use. The pathways will offer year round access to the fishing areas of the pool and a smooth surface to aid mobility.

A pool record for a wild brown trout was set today at Jay Farm Fishery. The fish was weighed in the net and made 12lbs. Allowing for the net Steve Hunt of Sportfish estimates the trout at 11lb. A picture can be seen in the image gallery.

I had a great evenings fishing, the weather for May was lousy but the fishing made up for it. I had 3 fish up to aprox 3.5 lb and missed quite a few takes, the takes added to the excitement.
Looking forward to fishing it again soon.

Thanks John. Pleasure to meet you and look forward to seeing you and Dave again soon. Lets hope you can beat his 8 fish next time although he always seems to catch 8 when he comes here. It would be nice to see more of those wild brownies too! Buzzers and yellow lure he tells me.

Just fished Jay Farm for the first time today. WOW…I had in excess of 25 fish and lost about the same amount. I know it was probably one of those rare days but what an amazing introduction to a fantastic fishery.
Richard and Becky made the experience even more enjoyable with the best hospitality I have ever encountered at any fishery.
I really can’t thank them both enough for what was a fantastic day.
No surprise but I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll be seeing me again soon.

    Thanks again

  9. Phil Middleton says:

Amazing days fishing yesterday…7 fish (all over 2lbs) and another 5 lost. Caught on a pheasant tail variant, shrimp imitation, and orange buzzer with breathers. The weather was vile but the fish didn’t seem to care…let’s face it; they are wet already. I had so much fun I didn’t notice the soaking I got. Will be back ASAP.

  10. Phil Middleton says:

Another excellent days fishing had on 23 December. Three hard fighting (including the odd aerial display whilst fighting) rainbows had to 2.5lbs on a Pheasant Tail Euro Nymph fished slowly on a sinking line.

Looking forwards to the next trip!
